UMS Brightspace Virtual Symposium

The Educational Technology Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the University of Maine System Brightspace Virtual Symposium which will take place on Thursday May 14 and Friday May 15. This 2-day event is open to the entire UMS community and will provide faculty and teaching & learning staff the opportunity to connect and engage as the University moves continues with the effort to migrate instruction to the new Brightspace Learning Management System for Fall 2020. The event will provide both general and training sessions designed to guide faculty to prepare courses for delivery in the Brightspace LMS. The working agenda for the event is provided below along with a registration form (note: all sessions will be conducted via Zoom videoconferencing). We ask that faculty please RSVP for this event so that we may plan appropriate staffing for each session based on demand and interest.

Symposium Brightspace Course Site

Participants will be enrolled in the Virtual Symposium Brightspace course site. The Symposium is accessed online through the UMS Brightspace at courses.maine.edu and each session will be conducted via Zoom web conferencing. Participants may also self enroll now by logging into https://courses.maine.edu and enrolling in the Symposium course from the Discover menu at the top of the UMS home page.

Participants will receive an invitation to the course a day or two before the event.
